How’s Your Business?

My business is the best it has been in 4 years. The economy is improving. It sure isn’t 2005 again but we are seeing growth, a few more jobs are being created, and some businesses are enjoying great years.

For some companies this just isn’t the case. I’ve recently talked with several business owners who’s business just haven’t been growing. They’re frustrated they haven’t been able to recover lost business and get back to historic levels.

The one common trait shared by all of these businesses is a lack of online presence. Think about it. In 2005 only 20% of the population was even using Google. When you needed a plumber you still went to the Yellow Pages. If you wanted a new television you went to Best Buy and Circuit City and comparison shopped and bought the TV you liked best. We still bought cars at the local dealer, not online.

You know what it’s like today. 74% of Internet users perform local search. If your business is not getting your share of the economic growth and your business doesn’t have a strong online presence these two situations may be related.

It’s time for you to have a strong online presence. You need to be sure Google finds your business and puts you near the top of the list. You need to use online video to help you get near top of the list. You need social media marketing to get near the top of the list. You need an integrated marketing plan to get back in business.
